Exciting News!

Hello everyone! I have some good news and some bad news, well, the bad news isn't exactly news because it is something you are most likely aware of. I am sorry my blog has been so lackluster these past few weeks but (now here comes the good news) that is purely due to the fact that I am starting my own zine with a friend of mine. I could not be more excited! For those of you who don't know a zine is a nonofficial publication, but hey everyone has to start somewhere. I will still be posting on my blog, there is no way I can give that up! If you are interested in contributing to my zine in any way shoot me an email! I am so excited!

Nadinoo

My favorite decade, in regards to fashion, at the moment is the 60's. This decade gave birth to a variety of trends that are still prominent today, take for example the skinny jean worn by Audrey Hepburn in the movie Funny Face. I'd like to again make a point of mentioning the wide variety of trends in the 60's, and lucky for me a few of my favorites are highlighted in Nadinoo's spring/summer '10 collection. I absolutely adore peter pan collars, a-line silhouettes, and high waisted shorts all of which are featured in this adorable collection.

Floral Shoes

As I have previously mentioned, florals are here to stay. I have come to the conclusion that floral fabrics and prints are not just a trend per say; but a look that will forever and always be viewed as the quintessence of femininity. Floral is a timeless pattern that crosses over through seasons, however, these floral booties wont be "in" forever like the pattern itself will. So, hurry up and be one of the first to buy these adorable shoes featured in this post before this look becomes over-done... cough cough military jackets cough.
Jeffrey Campbell Floral Boot: 80's floral lace boot, distressed leather, with brown laces. Front tassel is removable.
Deena & Ozzy Lace Up Sandal: Peeptoe Oxford sandal with cutout and lace up detail.
Osborne Floral Velvet Booties: Entire shoe is made of fabric with exception of the sole.

Puella

"Puella means fashion, fashion of refinement and attention of details. It is praise for idleness and it has a preference for sophisticated electricity." Designer Barbara Barbantini fashioned this beautiful and feminine line that is created by using unique materials, funny prints, colours, pop objects, and old pictures. Duskin

It's collection's like this one that make me check the 10-day forecast so frequently, hoping that warmer weather will be just around the corner. Stephanie Tran's Duskin spring/summer 2010 line is so angelic, isn't it? The simple silhouettes beautifully complement the floral and embellished fabrics, giving each look a whimsical feel. I am particularly partial to the black and white high waisted button up cotton dresses with the cut out circular overlays. Come spring what girl doesn't want to look effortlessly etherial? Well, the Duskin spring/summer collection will definitely do the trick.
